Over 300 visitors joined us to check out the rural character, and local history at this year’s Barn Tour on Sunday, September 18th. The Farmer’s Market at John Meade Park opened at 10:30 a.m. with some great nibbles and local produce, and other artisan crafts and gifts. A fly fishing demo and instruction was provided by SaraBella Fishing. Campus Cycles provided a bike tune-up and repair station. Visitors could learn about raptors and their habits with Nature’s Educators or watch a riding demonstration by the Platte Valley Pony Club.
We were excited to feature two successful examples of conservation easements on the Tour. Two different families in the community graciously agreed to share their properties and their stories on why leaving a legacy of open space was important to them. Together, they have preserved close to 40 acres of open space within an increasingly developed Denver metro area.
