January 1, 2020 – Denver Audubon’s Barb Masoner led the annual Christmas Bird Count in the Cherry Hills Village on New Year’s Day. 9 birders ranging from beginners to experts spotted 26 species and a total of 645 individual birds, including our neighborhood Great Horned Owls. According to Barb, that was “not bad for a winter’s day!”
CHLP made sure to provide a delicious, hot lunch of soup and sandwiches to warm up the neighborhood bird counters in conjunction with the City of Cherry Hills at Quincy Farm. All in all, it was a successful day of counting birds – check out a few of the great pictures captured!
