Purpose: The purpose of the Community Stewardship Grants program is to engage the Cherry Hills Village community and its youth in educational activities which promote protection and stewardship of natural open lands within the City limits. Typical grants may include a request for a tree planting project, habitat research, trail signage, support of identified City projects, trail clean-up, and education.
Grant Amount: $500-$5000
Application and Funding Cycle: Applications are now open. Projects must be completed within the calendar year approved.
Eligibility: Applications must:
- Be submitted by a Cherry Hills Village school group, community group, HOA, or other charitable or educational group such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or 4-H domiciled in, or with significant connections to the Cherry Hills Village community
- Be for a project/investment on public open space or trails within the City of Cherry Hills;
- Be consistent with the Cherry Hills Land Preserve’s mission of conservation and stewardship of natural open lands and rural character
A successful grant application (not to exceed 3 pages, not including financial information, or other attachments) will answer the following:
Purpose: Please describe the proposed project or problem to be solved briefly. Please note we do not provide funds for planning grants.
Implementation: Please share the scope of the proposed project. Who will be involved? What materials are necessary? Where will the project take place? What is the timeline?
Alignment: Please describe how this grant will support the mission of The Cherry Hills Land Preserve, which is to preserve natural open lands in Cherry Hills Village through leadership, stewardship, education, and advocacy.
Evaluation: What is the projected outcome and community benefit to be derived from this project? How will the project or program be evaluated? How will the organization measure impact?
Budget: Please provide an itemized list of expenditures, including those not covered by this grant request. Please share any matching funds, or other financing sources to be obtained to complete this project.
A letter of grant acceptance must be signed by the applicant upon approval and funding of the grant. Grantees must return the Grant Outcomes Report included with the funding award. Grantees agree to permit photos and description of the project and participants in publicity about the project, not limited to still photography, video, printed media and social media.
