What’s new at CHLP!

Dear Friends of Cherry Hills Land Preserve,

We Are Excited About The Future Of Cherry Hills Land Preserve.

We are writing this to you in the late days of fall and not knowing what the next few weeks or months will bring. What we do know is that nature and the outdoors are essential to us all. Without the rhythm of the seasons and the outdoors we feel stuck and confined, and sometimes unclear of how to respond to the challenges we are facing. Our hope at the Cherry Hills Land Preserve is that we can each make big and small changes that lead to a life well-lived outside. We will continue working together to protect our natural environment and preserve the natural beauty and wonder that enrich our daily lives.

We Are Preparing ToCome Back Strong.

– We are excited to say that we held eight, educational programs this year. Since the pandemic began in March, we made sure that all the educational programs were small and safe. We shared bird walks, stargazing, creek exploration time, art projects and a Fall Adventure Day with our participants.

– We began our rebranding effort with a new logo and launched a redesigned website that will share news, educational events, conservation ideas, and ways to get involved with our CHLP Programs and Events.

– Our North Star continues to be connecting people to nature, supporting healthy open space where nature and wildlife thrive and sharing the importance of conserving land.

– We are launching our first Impact Challenge! Every year, CHLP will be selecting a key environmental issue to highlight in our community starting with our smallest community members, bees!

 We Are Dreaming About 2021 And Beyond.

  • Since the pandemic began in March, we have made our educational programs small, safe and insightful.  We held eight programs in 2020.  We shared bird walks, stargazing, creek exploration time, art projects and a Fall Adventure Day with our participants.
  • We are launching our first Impact Challenge!  Every year, CHLP will be selecting a key environmental issue to highlight in our community.
  •  We also launched a new website that will share news, educational events and conservation ideas with our community, as well as ways to get involved with our CHLP Programs and Events.
  • Our North Star continues to be connecting people to nature, supporting healthy open space where nature and wildlife thrive and sharing the importance of conserving land.

We Are Dreaming about 2021 And Beyond.

  • Our 2021 Bee Project will include beekeeping programs, habitat planning, and a multi-year research study aboutthese important members of our nature community. Our members can accept the challenge to be a part of this important missionthat benefitsthe whole community.
  • Our Family Programs and Kids in the Creek Field Guide will encourage all ages to explore the outdoors;
  • Our new Summer Series will share conservation topics, music, and art inspired by nature for the “big kids”.  We are excited to launch these events at Quincy Farm and local parks.

We Are Dreaming about 2021 And Beyond. ,

While we hope to see everyone at the 2021 Barn Party and Trail Walk, without our 2020 fundraising event,we need your help to continue our mission of connecting our community with nature.
