On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Cherry Hills Village held a grand opening for John Meade Park. The redesigned park features a new picnic shelter, restrooms, and a play area with a super cool tree climber, a saucer swing and hammock, and an observation tower. Fishing piers stand above both ponds and a boardwalk narrows through the wetlands giving visitors a chance to get curious about critters living in the area. Installation of 125 trees will provide plenty of shade in years to come. The park includes a concrete performance area, trails, and an amphitheater. Cherry Hills Land Preserve was pleased to partner with the City and donate $10,000 toward landscaping for the project.
