A recent study by the Nature Conservancy estimates a potential for capturing 314 tons of carbon dioxide in the lower 48 United States each year. This is the equivalent of removing over 74 million car emissions from our atmosphere. The Nature Conservancy’s research reveals up to 127 million acres of opportunity to replant and restore our forests to combat climate change. A partner website called Reforestation Hub maps the possibilities for restoring up to 68 billion trees in forests across every state and county in the contiguous United States.
